A Brief Introduction

Hello, we are Freshman Design Group 940 and we would like to say welcome to our blog! Feel free to explore our site and learn about the work we are doing with solar panels. Here is a brief overview of our design goals and overall information. We are working as a team to design an undergraduate lab based on solar panels. The lab will show the advantage of systems that harness solar energy and characterize the efficiency of different solar cells, battery types, etc..

We will also be creating a solar energy system that connects two parallel panels with an MPPTracker that uses the solar energy to charge a Deep Discharge 12Volt Battery or run power to a set of outlets. We will be able to use this system to determine efficiency and simulate commercial solar panel energy usage in a rechargeable system.
